About Irun & Hondarribia
Irun is the border town on the Spanish bank of the Bidasoa, with the Renfe station where the Madrid trains start and a large commercial centre. Hondarribia, four kilometres away at the mouth of the river, is the pretty one: a walled old town of painted balconies around the parador, a marina district of pintxos bars, and a beach facing Hendaye across the bay. San Sebastián Airport, despite its name, is on the edge of Hondarribia.
