About Ciboure
Across the Nivelle from Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Ciboure is the side of the bay where the boats are moored and the light comes in the evening. The composer Ravel was born on the quay, the seventeenth-century church has the tiered galleries of the Basque tradition, and the Socoa headland closes the bay with its fort and lighthouse. It is a five-minute walk over the bridge to the shops of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and a short drive from the Corniche road.
