About Hossegor
Thirty-odd kilometres north of Biarritz, Hossegor combines a tidal lake, a forest of maritime pines and an ocean front where the sand-bottom waves are among the best in Europe. The town grew as a resort in the 1930s and keeps a low-rise, Basque-Landais style; today it is the base of the surf industry and hosts a leg of the world championship every autumn.
